BASIC DEFENSIVE PISTOL CLASS
This class is designed for the new or inexperienced firearm owner.
In this class the student will have a full understanding of firearm safety, proper range etiquette, nomenclature of the modern semi-automatic pistol and revolver, proper use of sights, grip, trigger press, follow through, ammunition nomenclature, ammunition selection, ammunition duty life vs shelf life, firearm malfunctions, and legal considerations. During our practical exercises, the student will perform dry fire drills using our SIRT Pistols moving on to inert rounds to understand proper loading and unloading techniques. The live fire exercises will consist of the fundamentals of marksmanship and move into the basics of self-defense shooting.
Training is only open to U.S. Citizens or permanent residents (green card holders) per ITAR (22 CFR 120-130)
Class time is approximately 6.5 hours long

EQUIPMENT:
Eye and ear protection
Ball cap
Quality functional semi-automatic pistol or revolver
Micro or pocket pistols are permitted.. However, we discourage their use during this class as you will not receive the full benefits of the training. We suggest full size or medium sized handgun.
2 magazines (3 is better)
100 rounds of ammunition
Enclosed shoes (No flip flops, sandals or open toe shoes)
Crew neck (T-shirt) or button up shirt (No low cut neckline or tank tops)
Shorts are permitted
Rain gear and appropriate clothing for weather and sunscreen if needed
Hydration (water, Gatorade, etc.) Light snack
